Inside the Design

Where the method lives

Each BLG build starts with a question — and the answer is something you can hear.

Built Tone-First

Every BLG guitar begins with intention — a tone to chase, a feel to shape.
That intention guides everything: the wood, the weight, the balance, and the joinery.
Forms may echo past experiments, but the result is always specific to the build.

Hallmarks of the Work

Design Features You’ll See Often:

  •  Side ports on all acoustics
  • Chambered electric bodies
  • Bolt-on necks with adjustable angles
  • Hybrid structures and offset balance
  •  Material pairings chosen for resonance and purpose

Note: This list reflects common BLG elements — not a rule set.

The Lab

BLG guitars are built in a single-room workshop in Santa Cruz, CA.
Every piece is hand-shaped, tested by feel and sound, and built for use.
From rough stock to final polish, the process is guided by time, tools, and experience.
No two instruments are the same — but each one comes from the same place.
